British starlet Carey Mulligan, who was nominated as best actress for An Education, yelped as a waiter trod on her long train and later had a lengthy chat with Oscar-winning best director Kathryn Bigelow.

Despite being one of the stars of the show Mulligan admitted she had no job lined up for after the Oscars.

“I’m using this as an open casting,” she told The Daily Telegraph. “It’s been wild, awesome. My mum was crying like it was a Broadway show tonight. Kathryn Bigelow is fantastic. I’m so happy for her and she’s been so nice about our film.”

Mulligan, 24, in a strapless Prada gown, said it hadn’t been easy adapting to Oscar week, saying she was a bit of a tomboy. “It’s difficult for women because you have to think about the clothes and the shoes and I’m more of a flats girl,” she said.

She realised how far she has come as she presented an award at the ceremony along with Avatar star Zoe Saldana.

“I looked over at Quentin Tarantino and he was looking at me. It was amazing,” she said.

Alec Baldwin blogged about the Academy Awards and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and mentioned several things he will remember most from the night. Carey was one of the memorable moments!

The official website for The Greatest has been launched at TheGreatestTheMovie.com. You can view the official trailer at the site but unfortunately there is no other information on the site so far. Judging by the trailer it looks like a beautiful movie!

Two posters of the movie were released so far and they have been added to the gallery along with captures of the trailer.

I’m not sure how much truth there is to it but several sources are reporting this. I simpy cannot believe Carey is not getting any offers! I’m hoping for other articles to clarify more on it.

CAREY Mulligan claims she doesn’t have any work in the pipeline.

The British beauty — who missed out on the Best Actress gong at the Academy Awards Sunday night — says she doesn’t know what she’s going to do next.

“This is all a dream come true for me. But I don’t have another job yet so I don’t know what I’m going to do — maybe the dole,” said Mulligan, who recently finished shooting Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

“I have yet to be offered another role. You never know when this is going to end. Hopefully it won’t be just yet.

“I never thought I would land a role in a movie, let alone be nominated for an Oscar.”

Carey, 24, recently admitted she can’t get her head around being dubbed the new “It girl” of young Hollywood.

“I do find the ‘It’ thing weird though,” she said. “And It girl to me has always meant somebody who is like a socialite. It girl implies a party girl to me, which I’m not really.

“The other stuff is just beyond strange for me. That is difficult for me to comprehend. It’s good. It just feels very weird.”

Carey Mulligan has admitted that she will treasure this year’s awards season.

The British actress has been the toast of the awards circuit as her performance in An Education proved to be her breakthrough role.

Last night she was in contention for the Best Actress Oscar, losing out to Sandra Bullock, but did win the Bafta last month.

She told People: “It’s been a really long time. It’s kind of nostalgic now… ”

“I think I’m just going to remember this weekend really vividly forever… I’m really just trying to enjoy it. I want to let these last three days be savoured.”

“I’ve never done a job before where I got to spend that time after it with [the cast]. That’s been my favourite part. I go to different cities and travel with all these people. We all got on so well.”

The actress also revealed that she has been surprised at how ‘human’ the other stars she has met have been.

“It’s really comfortable to see how normal and grounded everyone is. When you’re around these people for a whole season, these incredible actors that you’ve looked up to your whole life, suddenly they start to become very human. They reach out to you and they’re friendly.

“Some of the most amazing actors are so sweet and kind. You just never expect that from people, real friendship and warmth.”
