Carey in Elle UK

November 1st, 2009

As you may know, Carey is featured in November’s Elle UK magazine and today I was able to get my hands on the photoshoot Carey did for the magazine! The pictures are MQ and mildly tagged but she looks so beautiful in these! If anyone could provide Carey Mulligan Online with scans/HQ/untagged photos then we’d really appreciate it but for now enjoy! 😀

I have some goodies for you today! I have added three rare photos of Carey performing on stage as Hermia in the 2004 production of ‘Forty Winks‘. I have also added some more stills from ‘Pride & Prejudice‘ that we were missing and I have added loads more on set photos of Carey filming ‘Never Let Me Go‘ courtesy of Sarika & Laura at Keira Knightley Fan! Thank you! :)

Carey recently did a New York Times “T Magazine” Screen Test and you can view it right here. She talks about “killer lines and a near death experience.” I’ll get caps up soon.

The Playlist recently attended a screening of Carey’s film ‘Never Let Me Go‘ and had this to say about Carey’s performance:

IMDB lists the story line as this : “An alternate history story of a woman who, as she reflects on her private school years in the English countryside, reunites with her two friends to face the dark secrets tied to their communal past.” That being said, the performances and dynamic between the three friends, (Knightley, Garfield and Mulligan) are beautifully executed. Mulligan stood out to me as just so endearing and believable.

The article also included a few photos of Carey filming ‘Never Let Me Go‘ alongside co-star Keira Knightley and others. The photos are small but I just love this one!

I’ve added five more new photos from the portrait shoot I posted the other day from the Beverly Wilshire Hotel but taken different days. This one is a more “professional” photoshoot than the portraits. I have also added a new photo we were missing from Session 012 to the gallery! I absolutely love these! 😀

This Beautiful Fantastic is described as a “modern fairy tale in the vein of Amelie and Finding Neverland.” The cast also includes Tom Wilkinson (Duplicity), Christopher Eccleston (G.I. Joe), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Joanna Lumley (Corpse Bride). The story focuses on frustrated children’s author Bella Brown, who only leaves her obsessively ordered flat for work at the library. Chronically shy, she has no friends, no family and no life until she falls in love with Billy, a hopelessly messy inventor who whirls through the library’s carefully balanced world like a crazy tornado.

Shooting is scheduled to start in March next year on location in Edinburgh, Scotland and at the studios in Cologne, Germany. This Beautiful Fantastic recently appeared on The Brit List, an annual compilation of the best unproduced screenplays in the UK.

Yet again, I have added another gorgeous portraitshoot (in HQ!) of Carey at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel that was taken this month, presumably while promoting ‘An Education‘. I love this shoot, she looks so adorable in some of these pictures!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Carey has been cast in Terry Loane’s “This Beautiful Fantastic” alongside Tom Wilkinson, Christopher Eccleston, Mackenzie Crook and Joanna Lumley.

Billed as a modern fairy tale, Simon Aboud’s script appears on the annual Brit List, a compilation of the best unproduced screenplays from these shores that circulates here and stateside.

The movie is set to shoot in March 2010 shooting on location in Edinburgh, Scotland and in studio facilities in Cologne, Germany, the backers said.

The script details the story of a chronically shy and obsessively tidy children’s author whose world is turned upside down when she falls in love with a crazy, shambolic inventor.

Today Carey attended the 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony where she received the “Hollywood Breakthrough Actress Award” (you can read more about it here)! Congratulations Carey, a well deserved honor and award for sure! What do you guys think of her new hair style? 😀

Also, Carey has been nominated for Best Actress (An Education) at the British Independent Film Awards alongside such actresses as Emily Blunt and Abbie Cornish. ‘An Education‘ is up for Best British Independent Film as well as Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress (Rosamund Pike), and Best Supporting Actor! Good luck to Carey and the cast!
